Intangibles
My first post is dedicated to the amazing educators that teach me and inspire me daily at BAINS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in West Feliciana Parish in Louisiana. This was a message to them, but I hope any principal can see the same in the people that surround their kids each day. Enjoy!
If you follow any sports teams, you’ve heard TV commentators talk about the “intangibles” of certain players. People often point out that it takes more than having talents like world-class speed or the ability to throw a ball 90+ miles per hour to become a professional athlete. It takes the intangibles. Determination, work ethic, and love of the game are just a few examples. There are so many things that make Bains Elementary a special place: outstanding instruction, involved parents, eager students; but I have seen the intangibles on display. Teachers who love their students sincerely, who know the importance of giving a smile as they pass children and adults in the hall, and who know a hug will go a long way. Having patience with children when they have forgotten routines. Having patience with parents when they can’t find a folder. Having patience with the schedule when it has to be tweaked. Bains is great at the intangibles. So, I know what team I want to be on: The Bains Team!
